In case one suspects that there's some exaggeration of the Hamas demands, there's this quote from the Hamas Covenant.
The Prophet, Allah bless him and grant him salvation, has said:
"The Day of Judgement will not come about until Moslems fight the Jews (killing the Jews), when the Jew will hide behind stones and trees. The stones and trees will say O Moslems, O Abdulla, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him. Only the Gharkad tree, (evidently a certain kind of tree) would not do that because it is one of the trees of the Jews."
Killing Jews around the world remains a core mission of Hamas. For example, in 2019 a senior Hamas leader called on his "brothers,"
"Seven million Palestinians outside, enough warming up, you have Jews with you in every place. You should attack every Jew possible in all the world and kill them."
There is often talk of a two-state division of the Holy Land. That may be fine. But what about when one of the parties is only interested in a "one-state" situation and a final solution?
